JUDGEMENT

(1.) The appeals are disposed of by the following common order as the question involved is the same. The 2nd opposite party in the respective complaints viz., O.Ps. No. 166, 167 and 172/99 on the file of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Nagercoil, is the appellant in all the appeals.

(2.) The case of the complainant in the individual complaints was as follows : She had deposited moneys with the 4th opposite party, that the amount was not returned on due date with interest as claimed.

(3.) The appellant/2nd opposite party filed a version denying that she was a partner of the 4th opposite party. She further contended that the complainant was not a consumer and the dispute was in fact a dispute between the 3rd and the 1st opposite parties in the respective complaints and who were brother and sister. It was also contended that it was in the nature of a civil dispute and the Consumer Forum did not have jurisdiction.
