JUDGEMENT

(1.) The appellants are opposite parties before the District Forum. The complainant filed a complaint for ordering to restore the telephone connection and to hold that the opposite parties have committed deficiency in service and to grant compensation of Rs.25,000/- for the loss and mental agony with costs

(2.) On the basis of enquiry against the opposite parties, the District Forum allowed the complaint and the opposite parties are directed to pay a sum of Rs.7,000/- for suffering mental agony with a cost of Rs.500/- to the complainant within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of this order. Failure compliance entails interest at 9% p.a thereafter till realization.

(3.) Aggrieved by the order of the District Forum, the opposite parties filed this appeal against the complainant. In these circumstances, this appeal was taken up for hearing and in the appeal, and in the absence of the respondent/complainant this appeal is being disposed on merits after hearing the appellant and upon perusal of the records.
