JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard the counsel for the parties and with their consent this writ application is being disposed of at this stage itself. The prayer of the petitioner in this writ application is for direction to the respondent Jharkhand State Electricity Board to pay adequate compensation/damages on the ground that his sister namely Saro Murmu, who was aged about 45 years, died because of electrocution since the live electric wire, after snapping from the pole, was lying on the field of the petitioner, where her deceased sister has gone for agricultural work and for that an U.D case was also registered.

(2.) A counter affidavit has been filed on behalf of the respondent Jharkhand State Electricity Board, wherein it has been stated that as per the Board's Resolution No. 351 as well as on the basis of an office order No. 1119 dated 25/09/2006, the case of the petitioner for compensation is under consideration before the General Manager.

(3.) In view of the stands taken by the respondent Jharkhand State Electricity Board, this writ petition is being disposed of by directing the General Manager to consider the claim of the petitioner and take a decision in the matter within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. The decision taken must be communicated to the petitioner within two weeks thereafter.
