(1.) Heard the parties.
(2.) Petitioner has approached this Court with a prayer for a direction upon the respondents to consider his case for appointment to the post of Graduate Trained Teacher (Physics), pursuant to Advt. No. 20/2016, published by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (for short "JSSC"). Further prayer has been made for a direction upon the respondent Nos. 3 and 4 to recommend the name of the petitioner for appointment to the said post, inasmuch as the last selected candidate under BC-I category to which the petitioner belongs has obtained 216 marks, whereas, the petitioner has secured 214 marks, though the petitioner is entitled for 220 marks in view of the fact that question Nos. 114, 130 and 142 of Booklet Series 'A' have correctly been answered by him and hence, the petitioner is entitled for six more marks than what he has been allotted by the respondent-JSSC.
(3.) The factual exposition as has been delineated in the writ petition is that an advertisement, being Advt. No. 20/2016, was issued by respondent-JSSC for appointment to the post of Post Graduate Trained Teachers (Physics). The total number of posts for Physics subjects was 86. The category of the petitioner is BC-I and under this category, there were total 7 posts earmarked as would be evident from Clause-2 of the said Advertisement. The petitioner, having the requisite qualifications, applied for the said post under BC-I category. Thereafter, the petitioner was issued admit card for appearing in the written test, which was scheduled to be held on 19/2/2017. The petitioner appeared in the written test on the scheduled date and did well in the written examination. Subsequently, the result were published and the candidates were called for documents verification and in the said result, name of the petitioner also figured amongst the shortlisted candidates. The date for document verification was fixed on 9/6/2017, on which date the petitioner also appeared. The certificates of the petitioner were verified and the same were found to be in order. Thereafter, the petitioner was very hopeful that when the result would be published, his name would figure in the final merit list. However, when the final result was published, the name of the petitioner does not figure in the final merit list.
