JUDGEMENT

(1.) IN this writ petition the petitioners have prayed for a direction on the respondents to pay the arrears of salary at the revised UGC scale for the period from 15.11.2000 to 28.2.2002, which has been paid to the similarly situated Teachers of the Ranchi University, but has not been paid to the petitioners due to the apathy of the concerned respondents. It has been stated that the petitioners retired from the services and after their retirement they were entitled to get all the service dues as well as the retiral dues. The petitioners were also entitled to get their salary at the revised UGC scale, but the same was not paid for the period from 15.11.2000 to 28.2.2002. The petitioners were the Teachers in Co -operative College, Jamshedpur and they made their representation before the University through the principal, who belatedly forwarded the petitioners representation to the University for requisitioning the amount from the Director, Higher Education, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi, but till date the petitioners have not been paid the said dues.

LEARNED Counsel appearing on behalf of the Ranchi University submitted that they have already forwarded the petitioners representation and have requisitioned the amount from the Government, but the amount has not been received for payment. Mr. H.K. Mehta, learned G.A., submitted that the requisition of the University must have been considered and if the matter is still pending, the same shall be looked into and appropriate order shall be issued at the level of the Director, Higher Education, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi within a period of four weeks.
