(1.) NOW it is reported that in pursuance of the order passed by this Court on 5th February, 2008, the learned Advocate General, Jharkhand, convened a meeting of the concerned officers of the State Government, Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) and the Central Government and as a result of their deliberations, they have come out with some suggestions and the learned Advocate General has filed a report for implementing the suggestions, subject to the order of this Court. The comments of the report filed by the learned Advocate General are enumerated below. Three units of Kahalagaon II STPS with installed capacity of 1500 MW and 1.87% with 28 MW equivalent share in the installed capacity are to be commissioned. Three units of 170 MW each of Teesta Hydro Power Station of NHPC are also to be commissioned by the end of March, 2008 and allocation of various beneficiaries of the project, which apparently includes the State of Jharkhand, is under finalization and the State of Jharkhand is also expected to be allotted its share from this project.
(2.) DVC has entered into an agreement for supply of 150 MW to JSEB for the period from 7.11.2007 to 7.2.2008. In addition, they have agreed to continue the supply till June, 2008.
(3.) A report has also been submitted on behalf of the JSEB giving details with regard to the improvement made in the distribution system in the capital of Jharkhand and other parts of the State. Further information have been given about the present requirement of 765 MW excluding the supply of DVC from command area. In the statement, it has further been indicated that out of required quality of 765 MW, 580 MW power is presently available from different sources and therefore there is shortage of 185 MW. The availability of power to the extent of 580 MW includes 150 MW which the DVC has agreed to supply as well as 130 MW received from the Central Allocation.
