JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE writ petition was preferred by the petitioners against the order dated 8th August, 2001, whereby and whereunder, the Chief Security Commissioner, Kolkata ordered to keep all the process of recruitment of constable/RP.F., Eastern Railway, in abeyance, until further orders. Further prayer was made to direct the respondents to complete the process of recruitment, as per advertisements dated 4th June, 2001 and 7th June, 2001 for appointment to the post of Constable/RP.F.

(2.) A counter affidavit is stated to have been filed on behalf of the respondents on 11th January, 2002, a copy of which has been produced before this Court by the counsel for the respondents. It is accepted that the employment notice had been issued on 4th June, 2001 for recruitment of 2055 male constables and 100 female constables, as followed by supplementary advertisement dated 5th July, 2001, as per the decision and direction of Allahabad High Court and Supreme Court.

(3.) HAVING regard to the facts and circumstances, the respondents are directed not to continue with the temporary measure keeping in abeyance the selection, but to proceed in accordance with the Supreme Courts order and law for recruitment to the posts in question.
