(1.) Advertisement No. 27 of 1999 was issued on 17.02.1999 inviting applications for appointment on the post of Peons (Class-IV). The petitioners in this batch of writ petitions, except W.P.(S) No.597 of 2006, who applied for regular appointment on the post of Peons were not selected. The plea taken by them is that in breach of previous orders passed by the High Court they were not accorded benefits of past satisfactory service and work experience and thereby illegally deprived their rightful claim to appointment on the post of Peons.
(2.) The petitioner in W.P. (S) No.597 of 2006 has taken an altogether different stand and seeks scraping of the entire panel on the ground of large scale bungling in the appointments.
(3.) Mr. Krishna Murari, the learned counsel for the petitioners in W.P. (S) No. 5201 of 2005 states that the petitioner no.2 has passed away. In the writ petition he has raised a claim for appointment on the post of Peon which prayer now cannot be granted and, accordingly, W.P.(S) No. 5201 of 2005 qua the petitioner no.2, namely, Saligram Singh Chaudhary has abated.
