JUDGEMENT

(1.) BOTH the criminal appeals are heard together as they are arisen out of the same judgment of conviction and sentence and are being disposed of by the common judgment.

(2.) THE appellants have been convicted and sentenced by the learned Special Judge, CBI Dhanbad, in Connection with R.C. Case No. 14 of 1983 and they were sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years each under Sections 120 -B, 420 and 468 of the Indian Penal Code and under Section 5(i)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

(3.) ALTOGETHER 23 witnesses have been examined on behalf of the prosecution in support of its case. From the side of the defence, the appellant Harender Singh was himself examined during trial.
