JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents.

(2.) The petitioner-workman Umesh Singh has filed this writ petition on individual capacity challenging the award passed by the Central Government Industrial Tribunal, Ranchi in Reference Case No.2 of 2004 dated 28th January,2005.

(3.) It appears that the reference was made by the Central Government, vide Notification dated 21.2.2003, on the basis of Industrial Dispute raised by the workman represented by the President, Jharkhand Mazdoor Union, Jamshedpur. After registration of the reference, the Industrial Tribunal issued notices three times to the registered Union but no body appeared on behalf of the registered union and as such, the Tribunal proceeded ex parte and passed the award on 28.1.2005.
