JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard the parties and with their consent, this writ petition is being disposed of at this stage itself.

(2.) In view of nature of order going to be passed in this writ petition, it is not necessary to state the facts of the case in details, suffice it to say that the petitioner is an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police. He was facing a departmental proceeding for certain charges regarding dereliction in duties and indiscipline etc.. On completion of the proceeding, the Enquiry Officer submitted his report holding that the charges were found to be proved. The Disciplinary Authority, on the basis of enquiry report, passed an order of punishment of withholding of increase in salary for six months' equivalent to one Black Mark in his service record, by order dated 28.04.2009, as contained in Annexure-3 to the writ petition.

(3.) The petitioner preferred an appeal before the Deputy Inspector General of Police, who, by order dated 12.11.2009 (Annexure-4), dismissed the appeal and, thereafter, the petitioner preferred revision before the Inspector General of Police which has also been dismissed vide order dated 15.01.2010, as contained in Annexure-9 to the writ petition.
