(1.) APPELLANTS are the opposite parties/BSNL authorities who are under orders to pay a sum of Rs. 1,000 as compensation and Rs. 500 as cost to the complainant in OP 180/02 of CDRF, Kozhikkode.
(2.) THE case of the complainant is that he is a person aged 72 years from cardiac ailment. He had applied for temporary telephone connection on medical grounds which was extended up to 8.2.2001. The further extension with medical certificate to the Chief General Manager forwarded through proper channel was arbitrarily rejected by the opposite party/General Manager.
(3.) IN the version filed it is contended that the maximum period at temporary connection possible for the opposite parties were provided and further 6 months by the CGM. The application was not forwarded as the opposite party is competent to reject the same and also as the complainant had enjoyed the temporary connection for one year. Then there was capacity shortage and huge waiting list. More than 98% of the exchange was loaded.
