(1.) By this petition, filed in public interest, the petitioner has prayed for direction that the expenditure made on the advertisement by the ruling political party, using the fund of the State Government, may be prohibited.
(2.) In the order dated 15.09.2014, we had observed that a similar matter for the same reliefs in Writ Petition (Civil) No.13/2003 [Common Cause (Registered) Society through Sh. H.D. Shourie Vs. Union of India] is pending in the Honourable Supreme Court, in which the Honourable Supreme Court has constituted a Committee consisting of three members to undertake the task of suggesting guidelines to this Court. The matter was adjourned till 25.11.2014, as the Supreme Court was seized of the matter, and in which the report of the Committee was awaited.
(3.) An application has been made by learned counsel appearing for the petitioner to implead the Union of India, through Secretary, Information & Broadcasting as party respondent.
