JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE petitioner, Smt. Vimla W/o. Gordhan and daughter of Sattu Ram, 30 years, by caste Nayak, has approached this Court by way of present writ petition under Art. 226 of the Constitution of India making allegations against her in -laws and her own family members, who according to her, have compelled her to indulge in prostitution. She sought police protection from the respondent No. 2, Inspector General of Police, Bikaner. Along -with the writ petition, the copy of such representation to I.G., Bikaner Range, Bikaner, dt. 11.07.2013 has been produced with a newspaper report indicating such threat to her life and forced prostitution by her close relatives. Mr. Haider Agha, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that presently she is in Jodhpur, having escaped from the clutches of her family members and she needs to be given adequate protection and safe habitat by the State authorities so that the close relatives may not compel her to act against her wishes and her life and liberty is protected as per Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

(2.) MR . I.S. Pareek, learned Government Counsel, was directed to accept notice on behalf of respondents. He submits that he has given necessary instructions to the Inspector General of Police, Bikaner Range, Bikaner to provide proper safety and safeguard to the petitioner, Smt. Vimla, so that she is not forced into illegal activities as alleged in the present writ petition.
