JUDGEMENT

(1.) A letter has been received by Smt. Pappu Devi W/o Pramod Kumar. The letter has been treated as a letter petition by this Court.

(2.) Notice was issued to the State. According to the reply filed by the State, since the report of the District Magistrate, Jaisalmer, the Superintendent of Police, Jaisalmer, and the Social Welfare Department, Jaisalmer are yet to be received, therefore, the petitioner s case could not be placed before the Director General, (Prisons).

(3.) It is, indeed, the duty of the State to ensure that the relevant reports are received from the concerned departments/officers. The respondents are granted two week's time to call for the reports from the District Magistrate, the Superintendent of Police, and the Social Welfare Department, Jaisalmer, and are granted two week's time for placing the reports before the Director General (Prisons). The Director General (Prisons) shall decide upon Pramod Kumar's application for parole within a further period of two weeks thereafter.
