JUDGEMENT

(1.) The grievance as projected in the present petition is regarding the entitlement of the petitioner for promotion from the rank of Commandant to the next higher rank of Additional DIG in the process of selection conducted through the DPC held on 27th February, 2007.

(2.) Briefly stated, the material facts are as under:-

(3.) A DPC was constituted on 27 February, 2007 for considering the cases of all eligible for promotion to the post of Additional DIG. According to the procedure adopted by the DPC, the APRs for the years 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06 were to be considered.
