JUDGEMENT

(1.) In this petition, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the respondents to divest SHO, Police Station, Reasi of investigation in FIR No. 11/2016 and constitute a special investigation team comprising of Police Officers of known integrity for proceeding ahead with the investigation.

(2.) On being put on notice the status report has been filed by the respondents. It is the stand of the respondents that the Inspector General of Police(IGP), Jammu Zone vide his order dtd. 2/3/2016 has constituted a special investigation team headed by DySP, Head Quarters Reasi and the other members of the SIT are Senior Prosecuting Officer, DPO Reasi, SHO Police Station Reasi and Head Constable Baldev Singh. It is thus submitted that the investigation in the matter is being conducted by the SIT, therefore, the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed.

(3.) Having heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record, with the constitution of the SIT by the IGP, Jammu Zone, the grievance of the petitioner as projected in this petition has been redressed. As a result, this writ petition is rendered infructuous and is accordingly, dismissed.
