JUDGEMENT

(1.) Petitioner has invoked the jurisdiction of this court for seeking direction in the name of respondents to consider his case for grant of remission in terms of provisions of MANUAL FOR THE SUPERINTENDENCE AND MANAGEMENT OF JAILS, for short as Manual read with the Prisoners Act, 1977, for short as Act, on the grounds taken in the writ petition.

(2.) Respondents have filed the reply and resisted the same.

(3.) Heard counsel for the parties.
