(1.) The grievance of the petitioners is that there is excess population of blue-bulls in their area and the animals are damaging the standing crops in their fields.
(2.) It is alleged that though representations are being made to the respondents, no step has been taken to shift those animals and put them in any natural forest habitat, otherwise petitioners would not have moved this Court for protecting the crops.
(3.) Respondents have filed a counter affidavit admitting the fact that there is a considerable population of the blue-bulls. It is stated that on account of the restrictions imposed under the provisions of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act"), no harm can be caused to the animals and shifting thereof is a problem.
