JUDGEMENT

(1.) "When YOU GO HOME, TELL THEM OF US AND SAY, FOR YOUR TOMORROW, WE GAVE OUR TODAY".

(2.) This evocative epitaph by renowned English Classicist, Poet and Dramatist, John Maxwell Edmonds, is enshrined on the Kohima War Memorial in Nagaland built to commemorate soldiers of the empire, who laid down their lives to repel Japanese Assault in 1944 during the World War.

(3.) Unfortunately, the State in the instant case appears to have forgotten to acknowledge and recognize the sacrifices and contribution made by the husband of the petitioner during the freedom struggle for which he was awarded 'Tamara Patra' by none other than, the then Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on the 25th Anniversary of the Independence Day on 15th August, 1972.
