(1.) The appellant has been convicted for offences made able under Sec. 498-A and -306 of the I.P.C., and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable under Sec. 306 of the I.P.C. and to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay a fine of Rs. 200.00, and in default of payment of fine to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for three months under Sec. 498-A of the' I.P.C. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Being aggrieved by the judgment, the appellant has come in appeal before this Court.
(2.) The appellant and three others were tried in Sessions case No. 53 of 1986 by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Rohtak. As mentioned above, the appellant was convicted. However, the other accused were acquitted.
(3.) The allegations against the appellant is that he had subjected his wife Amaijit Kaur to cruelty and was demanding dowry from her which ultimately : led her to commit suicide.
