(1.) The petitioner fulfilled the educational qualifications for appointment against the post of Punjabi Mistress. She, therefore, desired to participate in the process of selection emerging out of the advertisement dated 12.06.2006. The petitioner was, however, not being permitted to participate in the process of selection on account of ineligibility on certain other grounds.
(2.) On the filing of the instant writ petition, the petitioner was permitted to participate in the process of selection provisionally. The result of the petitioner has been produced in Court today in a sealed cover. The same has been opened. A perusal of the result of the petitioner reveals, that the claim of the petitioner for appointment against the post of Punjabi Mistress was examined for the category of Ex-servicemen (dependentgeneral), wherein the petitioner was awarded 100.99 marks. It is the contention of the learned counsel for the respondents,
(3.) on instructions from Mr. Balwant Singh, Superintendent, office of the Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab, that the last candidate selected and appointed of the aforestated category to the post of Punjabi Mistress had been granted 110.02 marks. It is, therefore, the contention of the learned counsel for the respondents, that even if the petitioner is treated to be eligible, still she does not fall within the zone of selection. In view of the above, eligibility apart, the petitioner is not entitled to appointment against the post of Punjabi Mistress. The instant writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed as the same is devoid of any merit.
