(1.) Denial of a decree for divorce and custody of children is what is sought to be challenged in appeal here by the husband. Divorce being claimed on the ground of cruelty.
(2.) It was on December 9, 1974 that the marriage between Satish Kumar Goel and his wife Raj Rani was solemnized at Bhatinda. Two children were born to them - a son, Rajiv on October 6, 1975 and on December 12, 1980 their daughter-Monika. The parties have been living apart since December 29, 1982. Both the children are with their mother.
(3.) The husband Satish Kumar Goel having done his Ph. D. in Micro Biology, was working as Research Assistant at the University of Stratholyde, Glasgow in the United Kingdom, when he came to India, married Raj Rani and took her back with him to Glasgow at the end of December, 1974. They lived together at Glasgow till March, 1975 when Satish Kumar Goel's tenure as Research Assistant at the University came to an end. They returned to India on March 11, 1975 and took up residence with the parents of Satish Kumar Goel at Bhatinda.
