JUDGEMENT

(1.) .The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to re-fix the seniority of the petitioners after taking into consideration their actual date of appointment in the respondent-department and regularise their services from the date persons junior to them have been regularised. Further, a writ of certiorari has also been sought for quashing the order dated 21. 08.2009 (Annexure P-6 Colly.).

(2.) Learned State counsel submits that during the pendency of the present petition, services of all the petitioners, except petitioner No.3-Jaswant Singh and petitioner No.5-Naresh Kumar, have been regularised and they have also retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation.

(3.) Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that despite his best efforts, he has not been able to contact his clients.
