GURDEV SINGH Vs. STATE OF PUNJAB AND OTHERS

JUDGEMENT

(1.) Petitioner who retired as Inspector from Cooperative Society, Nakodar has impugned the order dated 23.7.2010 (Annexure P7), whereby he has been imposed penalty of cut of 1/3rd part out of the pension. Also challenged is the order dated 7.6.2011 (Annexure P8) passed by the Special Secretary, whereby his appeal was dismissed.

(2.) The short prayer of learned counsel for the petitioner is that the punishment awarded to the petitioner is harsh and this Court should interfere in the punishment order and reduce the same. I am of the view that it was for the department to decide as to what kind of punishment is to be awarded.
