JUDGEMENT

(1.) In compliance of the order dated 13.05.2016, the detenue, namely, Meenakshi is present in Court who is identified by SI Mohinderjeet Singh. The present petition is with regard to the illegal custody of the wife of the petitioner, who is alleged to have been in custody of the respondent Nos.3 to 5.

(2.) The detenue, namely, Meenakshi, states, in Court that she wants to live with her husband, namely, Buta Singh, who has performed the marriage with her in the month of April, 2015 and she does not want to live with her parents and brother i.e. respondent Nos.3 to 5 and she was forcibly taken into custody by respondent Nos.3 to 5. In this regard, separate 1 of 2 statement of the detenue, namely, Meenakshi has also been recorded today in Court. The detenue is stated to be major and her date of birth is 12.02.1996 as per the Matriculation certificate (Annexure P -1).

In view of the aforementioned statement made by the detenue, the present petition is allowed and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Bathinda, is directed to provide necessary protection to the life and liberty of the petitioner and his wife i.e. detenue -Meenakshi from the hands of respondent Nos.3 to 5 or from any other relatives.
