THE petitioners have approached this Court for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus so as to require the respondents to fill up the posts of Physical Education Masters by way of promotion in terms of the mandate of the Punjab Educational Services Class III (School Cadre) Rules, 1955. This direction is being sought in respect of posts which occurred prior to 12.5.1998 but have remained unfilled.
