KESAR SINGH Vs. STATE OF PUNJAB

Decided On March 31, 2006
KESAR SINGH Appellant
V/S
STATE OF PUNJAB Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) IT is apparent from the records that the petitioner was on bail. However, he failed to appear before the trial Court on January 17, 2006, and consequently, his bail bonds were cancelled. He surrendered before the trial Court on February 16, 2006, of his own and since then he is in jail. This Court feels that for remaining absent on one date, he has sufficiently been punished. Without expressing any opinion on merits of the case, this petition is allowed and during pendency of the trial, petitioner is directed to be released on bail to the satisfaction of the trial Court.
