JUDGEMENT

(1.) PRAYER in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.129 dated 13.6.2006 registered under Sections 419/420/467 IPC at Police Station Civil Lines, Gurdaspur.

(2.) THE allegations in the FIR, are that the petitioner, while working as a Bank Manager, advanced loans to the tune of Rs.575.00 lacs. A sum of Rs.38.00 lacs was found to have been advanced to 39 applicants on forged and fictitious documents namely forged salary slips etc. Amounts advanced and the discrepancies in granting loans are detailed in the FIR. A healthy banking system is essential to the economic well being of the country. Loans, advanced on forged and fabricated documents jeopardise the financial health of a Bank. In my considered opinion, the conduct of the petitioner, a Bank Manager, disentitles him to the grant of anticipatory bail. Dismissed.
