JUDGEMENT

(2.) THE father of the petitioner was employed as a Chowkidar in the Irrigation Department. He died in harness on 22.7.2002. On account of the death of his father in harness, the petitioner applied for appointment on compassionate grounds. It is the vehement contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner, that no decision has been taken thereon by the respondents. Accordingly, the petitioner is stated to have issued a legal notice dated 27.9.2005 (Annexure P-7), requiring the respondents to take a final decision in respect of his claim for appointment on compassionate CWP No. 2311 of 2006 Page numbers grounds. It is submitted, that no decision has been taken on the legal notice either. Learned counsel for the petitioner states, that the petitioner will be satisfied, if the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3, requiring him to take a final decision on the legal notice
