TALVINDER SINGH Vs. REGIONAL TRANSPORT AUTHORITY

Decided On February 10, 2006
TALVINDER SINGH Appellant
V/S
REGIONAL TRANSPORT AUTHORITY Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner is stated to have submitted an application dated 6.4.2005 for the grant of contract carriage permit for operating a tempo on Bassi Pathana to Ranwa via Dhunda, Mustfabad, Sohabi, Mohan Majra, Batha Khurd, Batha Kalan route. Since no decision was taken thereon, the petitioner made a representation dated 5.12.2005 (Annexure P2) reminding the respondent to take a decision on the application filed by him. It is, however, pointed out that no decision has been taken thereon till date.

(2.) Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner will be satisfied if the instant writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent i.e. the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala, requiring him to take a final decision on his application dated 6.4.2005 (Annexure P1)..

(3.) In view of the above, without going into the merits of the claim raised by the petitioner, we consider it just and appropriate to dispose of the instant writ petition by directing the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala, to take a final decision on the application dated 6.4.2005 (Annexure P1), by passing a well reasoned speaking order within two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. Disposed of accordingly.
