JUDGEMENT

(1.) Present civil writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of CERTIORARI seeking quashing of the orders dtd. 5/12/2001 (Annexure P-5) and 23/1/2002 (Annexure P-6), vide which respondents No.4 & 5 were promoted to the post of Deputy Director and further to issue a writ in the nature of MANDAMUS directing respondents No.1 & 2 to promote the petitioners to the post of Deputy Director without consequential benefits from the date, when respondents No.4 & 5 were promoted.

(2.) On 16/7/2025, the matter was referred to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court under the Special Mediation Drive " " Mediation "For the Nation", where a settlement/agreement was arrived at between the parties and the same was reduced into writing. Petitioners No.1 to 3 have conveyed their agreement to the settlement/agreement through Whatsapp and petitioner No.4 personally visited the office and recorded her statement on 12/9/2025. Further, petitioner No.1 Usha Kant retired on 31/1/2023, petitioner No.4 Surinder Kaur retired on 31/1/2020, petitioners No.3 & 4 Paramjit Kaur and Paramjeet Sharma, respectively, retired on 31/10/2023. All the petitioners informed the Mediator that they do not want to pursue the present petition, as the matter has been settled.

(3.) In view of the above, present petition is disposed of in terms of the settlement/agreement dtd. 23/9/2025 arrived at between the parties.
