JUDGEMENT

(1.) This order will dispose of a bunch of petitions bearing CWP Nos. 4977, 5492, 5966, 6756, 7527 and 14027 of 2013, as common questions of law and facts are involved.

(2.) The petitioners herein are Medical Graduates. They are aggrieved of non-consideration of their candidature for appointment to the post of Medical Officer.

(3.) Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that Punjab Public Service Commission (for short, 'the Commission') advertised 334 posts of Medical Officer, for which public notice was issued on 20.12.2012. The last date fixed for submitting the applications on-line was 11.1.2013, whereas hard copy thereof was to be submitted by 21.1.2013. The essential qualifications required were degree in MBBS and registration with Punjab Medical Council or with any other duly constituted Medical Council in India. The screening test for the post was held on 17.2.2013. Thereafter, list of the candidates, who were declared eligible and the list of the candidates, from whom certain documents were required, were published.
