(1.) 1. By way of this petition under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 (for brevity, the Code), petitioners, the accused, in cross version recorded under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (for short, the IPC) in First Information Report (for short, FIR) No. 282 dated 22.11.2013 under Sections 326, 324, 506,148 and 149, IPC, recorded at Police Station, Jandiala Guru, District Amritsar (Annexure P1), seek quashing of the cross -version in the FIR saying that the matter has been amicably settled between them and the complainant/victim as evidenced by the deed of compromise dated 25.12.2013( Annexure P3).

IN the above stated FIR, respondent No.2 lodged a cross -version against the petitioners alleging that on 22.11.2013 at about 3.30 a.m., he and his father were returning to their house from fields. He was a little ahead of his father Sukhbaj Singh, when he reached near Ex.Sarpanch's house, Bikram Singh son of Kulwant Singh armed with 'Bhaura', Simran Singh son of Sardul Singh armed with 'dattar', Amarjit Singh son of Jagir Singh armed with 'dattar', Sarabjit Singh son of Jagir Singh armed with 'double barrel gun', Sardul Singh son of Dalip Singh and Darshan Kaur wife of Jagir Singh attacked him and caused injuries on his person with an intention to kill him. The matter involves a version and cross -version and the parties involved in two cases, who are close relatives, have, with the intervention of respectables, decided to bury the hatchet. Above stated FIR is being quashed in the connected petition registered as CRM -M - 1376 of 2014.
(3.) THE Complainant and the State counsel have no objection if the FIR and proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.
