JUDGEMENT

(1.) Convict Harbans Singh has preferred this appeal against judgment/order dated 21.04.2014, passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Patiala ('trial Court', for brevity), vide which he has been convicted for the commission of offence punishable under Section 306 and 498-A of the Indian Penal Code, (for short, 'the Indian Penal Code') and sentenced as under:-

(2.) Charges under Section 498-A and 306 IPC were framed against the accused appellant, to which he pleaded not guilty and claimed trial.

(3.) In order to prove its case, the prosecution examined as many as eight following witnesses:-
