(1.) PRAYER in the instant petition is for the cancellation of anticipatory bail granted by Additional Sessions Judge, Tarn Taran, to respondents No. 2 and 3 in FIR No. 87 dated 29.04.2013 for offences under Sections 307, 498 -A, 506, 406 and 120 -B of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
(2.) THE petitioner was married with Narinder Pal Singh coaccused on 12.03.2012. It was stated in the FIR that parents of petitioner gave sufficient dowry in the marriage including gold ornaments. From the very beginning, the husband of petitioner and his other family members, have been demanding more cash amount of Rs. 10 lacs and a Verna Car. The accused persons have been torturing the petitioner, mentally and physically but she tolerated all this to protect honour of both the families. The petitioner then applied for job to save herself from tyranny of inlaws and joined as Nurse in Max Hospital, Mohali. Husband of the petitioner was, however, compelling her to leave the job and also bring more dowry articles. The petitioner stayed at her relatives place in Mohali. However, a case of embezzlement was registered against father -in -law of the petitioner and in order to share sorrows of in -laws, she left the job and came to her in -laws place at Bathinda.

IT was further stated that on 05.02.2013 at about 11.00 a.m. the petitioner was collecting clothes in the bed room, that Amarjit Kaur mother -in -law of petitioner, Maninder Kaur respondent No. 2 her sister -in -law, respondent No. 3 Jagjit Singh husband of respondent No. 2, and maternal grandmother -in -law forcibly grappled with the petitioner and started beating her. Respondent No. 2 caught hold of the petitioner from arms and hair. Respondent No. 3 also caught her from her hair. Mother -in -law of petitioner poured kerosene upon the petitioner and respondent No. 2 took matchbox from the hands of maternal grandmother -in -law and petitioner was set on fire with an intention to kill her. The petitioner started extinguishing fire with her hands but her body below the neck was burnt. She raised alarm and had fallen down. The fire was extinguished.
