JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE appeal is for enhancement of claim for compensation for death of a male, aged 43 years, in an accident that took place on 25.12.1998. He was said to be a Luggage Porter, earning Rs. 4,507/ - per month. The claimants were widow and 6 minor children. The Tribunal assessed the contribution to the family at Rs. 31,992/ -, applied a multiplier of 10 and assessed a compensation of Rs. 3,27,920/ - that included Rs. 8,000/ - as funeral expenses.

(2.) I will take the income as stated by the Tribunal and apply a prospect of increase at 30% and redetermine the compensation under various heads of claims as under: -

(3.) THE award stands modified and the appeal is allowed with cost of Rs. 25,000/ - against the Insurance Company.
