GURDEEP SINGH Vs. STATE OF HARYANA

JUDGEMENT

(1.) PRAYER made in the petition is for quashing of FIR No.447 dated 9.11.2012 under Sections 323/406/498 -A/506 IPC registered at Police Station Mahesh Nagar, Ambala Cantt. and for setting aside all the proceedings arising therefrom.

(2.) THE aforementioned FIR was registered on the basis of an application submitted by respondent No.2 -Gurpreet Kaur before the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ambala wherein the petitioners were arraigned as accused. Quashing of the FIR is sought on the ground of compromise as according to the petitioners, the relatives and well wishers of both the parties intervened and amicably settled the matter. Pursuant to the same, respondent -Gurpreet Kaur started living with petitioner -Gurdeep Singh in the matrimonial home besides withdrawing the petition filed by her under Section 125 Cr.P.C.
