RAJDEEP KAUR Vs. STATE OF PUNJAB

Decided On July 16, 2014
RAJDEEP KAUR Appellant
V/S
STATE OF PUNJAB Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) PRAYER in this petition, filed under Section 482, Cr.P.C., is for quashing the impugned FIR No. 84, dated 25.10.2012, for the offences punishable under Sections 120B and 420, IPC, registered at Police Station, Sadar, Moga.

(2.) AT the very outset learned counsel for the petitioners prays for an adjournment on the premise that the cancellation report is likely to be presented by the investigating agency in the present case. Learned counsel for the State on instructions from ASI Amarjit Singh of Police Station, Sadar, Moga, on the contrary submits that there is no such proposal at this stage. Therefore, this might not be a ground for adjournment and, as such, the prayer for adjournment is declined.

(3.) ON the other hand, learned counsel for the State submits that specific allegations have been levelled in the impugned FIR against the petitioners with regard to deceitful receipt of huge amount from the complainant/respondent No. 2.
