JUDGEMENT

(1.) PETITIONER has approached this Court for issuance of a direction to the respondents to sanction and release the pension along with arrears and interest.

(2.) PETITIONER asserts that he joined the erstwhile Punjab Government as Male Social Worker at Pakho Kalan, District Sangrur in the year 1964 on three months basis in the grade of 60 -4 -80 -5 -100. Thereafter, he was appointed as Tehsil Welfare Officer at Narwana on temporary basis in the same pay scale vide appointment letter dated 02.08.1965. He worked on the said post upto 10.10.1966 when his services were dispensed with. Thereafter, the petitioner was appointed as Tehsil Welfare Officer, Jind vide appointment letter dated 17.11.1966, which service was extended from time to time. He continued as such till he was relieved on 18.06.1977 after the regular employees duly selected by the Selection Board joined. All through, the petitioner had been serving on temporary/adhoc basis although against the post which was duly sanctioned.

(3.) THEREAFTER , the petitioner had again approached the respondents for the grant of the retiral benefits, but when no benefit was conferred upon the him, he has now approached this Court again by way of present writ petition for the release of pension and arrears with interest.
