JUDGEMENT

(1.) Petitioner is aggrieved against the appointment of Sukhpal Singh (respondent No. 5) as Lambardar of village Meerpur Kalan, District Mansa by the Collector, Mansa vide his order dated 26.10.2009 which was upheld by the Commissioner, Faridkot as well as Financial Commissioner (Revenue) Punjab.

(2.) Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the authorities below have committed a grave error in rejecting the claim of the petitioner. Whereas petitioner is a matriculate and owns 90 kanals of land, respondent No. 5-Sukhpal Singh is not even a matriculate and owns only 24 kanals of land. Petitioner was, thus, only suitable candidate for appointment as Lambardar. He submits that impugned orders are unsustainable. Thus, they deserve to be set-aside.
