JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE appeal is for enhancement of claim for compensation for death of a male, aged 48 years, in an accident that took place on 01.09.2001. The deceased was said to be a Watchman, drawing an income of Rs. 4,000/ - per month. The Tribunal assessed the loss of dependence to the family at Rs. 1,200/ - per month and assessed a compensation of Rs.2,30,000/ -. I find the compensation assessed is inadequate and would require to be reassessed taking note of prospect of increase in future and also providing for appropriate sums for loss of consortium and for loss of love and affection in the manner suggested by the Supreme Court in the recent decisions and tabulate the other heads of claim as follows: -

(2.) THE award stands modified and the appeal is allowed to the above extent.
