JUDGEMENT

(1.) The controversy in this bunch of Regular First Appeals and cross-objections therein is with regard to the market value of the land acquired.

(2.) An area of 15.42 acres of land was acquired for the construction of Sutlej Yamuna Link canal by notification under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 , issued on August 20, 1985.

(3.) The Land Acquisition Collector vide award of May 25, 1986, assessed the market value of Chahi land acquired at Rs. 62,000/- per acre and that of Gair-mumkin land at Rs. 35,000/- per acre.
