JUDGEMENT

(1.) THE petitioner was convicted under Section 16(1)(a)(i) of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act and was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months and to pay a fine of Rs. 1000/- and, in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for two months, by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Patiala, on 10-10-1985. The appeal filed by the petitioner was dismissed by the Additional Sessions Judge, Patiala, on 24-7-1986. Hence, this revision petition.

(2.) BRIEFLY stated, the case of the prosecution is as under :-

(3.) WITH a view to sustain the charge against the accused-petitioner, the prosecution relied upon the statements of PW-1 Sohan Lal, Clerk in the office of the Local Health Authority, Patiala. PW-2 Dr. Harbir Singh, Incharge Rural Dispensary, Lalru, and PW 3 Dr. Ravi Dutt Madan; besides affidavit Exhibit PG of Durga Singh, Peon in the office of the Local Health Authority.
