(1.) PRESENT petitions shall be disposed of through a common order. We must note with a regret the utter mess created by the University in the process of employment of staff. The initiation is through ad hoc process by which persons are deployed and then they are maintained so for years together making them incapable of employment elsewhere. Thereafter, procedures are revised which may exclude some and include others and weightages are given possibly with the intent of seeking absorption of the existing ones. This is hardly a desirable situation.
(2.) WE are of the view that since a new Board of the University having been constituted all the issues raised in this petition must receive consideration of the Board. The endeavour should not only he to sort out the mess created but to ensure that there is a transparent procedure for future and employment does not take place on ad hoc basis. It should be on regular basis. It is qua future recruitment/employment that a transparent procedure must be ensured so that a similar situation does not come to pass. The grievance raised in these petitions are agreed to be placed before the Board of Governors of the University which will take their final decision qua all aspects, within a maximum period of three months from today.
