JUDGEMENT

(1.) This petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No.31 dated 13.2.2011 (Annexure P-1), registered at Police Station Tanda Tehsil Dasuya District Hoshiarpur under Sections 406, 498-A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC' for short) and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom in view of the compromise arrived at between the parties.

(2.) Learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for respondent No.2 have submitted that with the intervention of the relatives and respectables of the area, parties have arrived at a compromise and have sought divorce on the basis of mutual consent.

(3.) Respondent No.2 is present in person and has admitted the factum of compromise effected between the parties. She has further stated that she has no objection in case the FIR in question is ordered to be quashed and has tendered her affidavit on record in this regard.
