JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioners, who were working as Male Social Workers, were promoted as Tehsil Welfare Officers on purely ad hoc basis, This promotion was made against the posts which had to be filled up by direct recruitment. On receipt of recommendation from the Subordinate Services Selection Board, the department ordered the reversion of the petitioners. Aggrieved by this order of reversion, the petitioners have approached this Court.

(3.) In the written statement filed on behalf of the respondents, it has been averred that the petitioners had been promoted purely on ad hoc basis and that the reversions have been ordered to appoint persons, whose names have been recommended by the Subordinate Services Selection Board
