BALVIR SINGH Vs. STATE OF PUNJAB AND ANOTHER

JUDGEMENT

(1.) This petition has been filed under Section 401 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 challenging the order dated 4.1.2012.

(2.) Respondent and his co-accused had faced trial under Sections 420, 506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC for short).

(3.) Vide judgment/ order dated 13.2.2010 passed by the trial Court, Jagir Singh was convicted and sentenced qua commission of offence punishable under Section 420 IPC but the other accused Mangat Ram and Arur Singh were acquitted of the charges framed against them. Aggrieved against the said judgment/ order of conviction and sentence, respondent Jagir Singh preferred an appeal. The Appellate Court vide judgment dated 4.1.2012 allowed the appeal and acquitted the respondent of the charges framed against him.
