This appeal is directed against the judgment-cum-award dated February 10, 2012 passed by the Railway Claims Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench, Chandigarh (for short 'the Tribunal'), whereby, appellant Davinder Yadav was awarded Rs.3,20,000/- along with interest on account of the injuries suffered by him in a train accident. Out of the awarded amount, a sum of Rs.50,000/- was ordered to be paid to him through crossed cheque and the remaining amount of Rs.2,70,000/- along with interest was ordered to be deposited in a Nationalised Bank in the shape of Fixed Deposits, for a period of three years, with liberty to the appellant to withdraw quarterly interest accrued thereon.
(2.) By filing the instant appeal, the sole submission of the appellant is that he is major and can look after his interests. After the accident, he had to borrow money from his relatives and friends, which is to be returned to them. Thus, the entire amount of compensation awarded to him, including the sum ordered to be deposited in the shape of Fixed Deposit, be released to him.
(3.) The submission has substance and deserves to be accepted.
