JUDGEMENT

(1.) Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to Jassa Singh @ Jaswant Singh, who has been booked for having committed the offence punishable under Section 420, IPC, in FIR No. 81, dated 4.4.2012, registered at Police Station, City, Kapurthala.

(2.) The allegation against the petitioner is that he introduced Balihar Singh, son of Mukhtiar Singh, and Gurbax Singh, son of Piara Singh, to the complainant for the sale and purchase of cattle. Later on, the co-accused of the petitioner purchased the cattle from the complainant and continued to make the payment through bank transactions. However, the dispute arose between the complainant, Balihar Singh and Gurbax Singh, on account of non-payment of an amount of approximately Rs. 5,00,000/-.

(3.) Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that even if the case of the prosecution is taken at its face value, then also, no offence for cheating is made out so far as the petitioner is concerned. He further submits that the co-accused have already been arrested and granted bail.
